Designing equivalent Norton Circuit from a given circuit arrangement

Doubt: I was recently studying Norton Theorem in electrical circuits and I found trouble in this problem. While calculating the current, my professor told me to ignore the 5 \Omega resistance since it is in parallel with the short circuit segment. But I couldn’t really understand this logic. Please explain. (PS: Forgive me if it is something trivial, 'cause I haven’t slept since 2 days and its taking a toll on my brain power :(( )

Problem: Design the Norton equivalent circuit from the shown driver network between terminals a and b.

Nevermind. I just scrolled through Sadiku and found this problem. I forgot the definition of ‘short circuit’ lol :))
